Roh Jeong Eui and GOT7’s Jinyoung Bid Farewell To “The Witch” Also 3 Best Moments in 7-8 and Finale Episodes.

Finally, “The Witch” is coming to an end. It’s become more thrilling than ever. Although the entirety of the seventh and eighth episodes kept viewers on the edge of their seats, three moments in particular took over the show. From Dong Jin (Jinyoung) testing the law of death at the risk of his life to the unexpected change that may prove Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Yui) is a witch, here are three of the best moments from episodes seven and eight of “The Witch.”

Spoiler Alert For 7-8 Episodes

Verification of The Law of Death

We’ve seen Dong Jin working on evidence gathering and report writing since the premiere. While these tasks are performed by about 80 percent of data analysts and miners, seeing the same process over and over again can be a bit tiring. However, our main lead flips the script in recent episodes, going beyond information gathering to test the law he created based on the information he gathered: The Law of Death. These scenes were as thrilling as one would expect, it proves why The Witch is a top-tier thriller mystery K-drama.

Roh Jeong Eui & Jinyoung

At the end of episode six, Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) takes a job at a grocery store, hoping to get closer to Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui), and Mi Jeong places her order at that store. While this move may come across as more stalker-like, this slightly immoral act makes the recent episodes more entertaining. After becoming an employee, he begins delivering Mi Jeong’s orders and tests his theory: it is dangerous to be within 10 meters of Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) for 10 minutes.

Even though he leaves her apartment within the time limit then he is slightly injured in a thrilling scene. That moment leads him to another feeling; Between them, the number of sentences exchanged is also a trigger. It’s dangerous to talk to Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) for 10 sentences.

Some much-needed romantic scenes

Roh Jeong Eui and Jinyoung

One of the most disappointing things in the media, including the book publishing industry, is when a story is misclassified. Unfortunately, it seems to be the same with “The Witch” as well.
This drama is aired as a romance mystery thriller. This made viewers believe that they would see Jinyoung and Roh Jeong Yui set the screen on fire.

However, in the first six episodes, or to put it simply, the couple barely spoke for 60 percent of the show. Fortunately, things change in the seventh episode. We finally got some romantic scenes from our main characters. The couple’s first interaction occurs when Dong Jin delivers Mi Jeong’s grocery order. Secretly, Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) smiles at him.

Although she quickly admitted to herself that it was only because a long time she hadn’t talked to a man. Still, she finds herself liking him a little and looks forward to their delivery on Tuesday. Another heartbreaking moment occurs when Dong Jin, despite knowing that it is dangerous to talk to Mi Jeong for more than 10 minutes, cannot leave her side. “I’ve forgotten how many sentences we exchanged with each other, but I really liked seeing her smile,” he told the audience.

Finally, when Mi Jeong is on a bus and Dong Jin gets on the same bus. Then, as their journey ended, he thought to himself, “This time is not enough, and I wish there was too much traffic.” Yes, following Mi Jeong on the bus is stalker behavior, but how can Jinyoung’s fluent dialogue not make your heart flutter?

The Unexpected Variable

Previously, it was explained in “The Witch”, the law of death, which is still only a hypothesis, is simple:

1. It’s dangerous to be within 10 meters of Mi Jeong’s.
2. Talking with Mi Jeong is dangerous.
3. Mi Jeong, knowing your name is dangerous.
4. It’s dangerous to confess your love to her.
5. Death will happen if all of the above apply.
If one condition is missing you will be injured but won’t die.
Each of these tasks is dangerous in itself. When this comes together, the consequences will be terrible.

However, in recent episodes, the situation takes an unexpected turn. When Dong Jin encounters an incident that he initially thinks is an inconsistency: Ik Jong (Joo Jong Hyuk). Ik Jong is Mi Jeong’s university senior and a member of the same church, and he did all four prohibited things, but he did not die. Ik Jong was bitten by a hornet, unlike other men who suffered serious consequences. This incident is enough to prove The Law of Death false.

However, upon further investigation, Dong Jin reveals the truth. Ik Jong suffered from epilepsy long before he met Mi Jeong, and he was never bitten by a hornet. When he had a seizure, to protect his privacy, Mi Jeong(Roh Jeong Eui) told people it was a hornet bite. It deepens the mystery when this explains the situation. Despite breaking all the rules, Ik Jong did not die or suffer serious injuries. Finally, it’s revealed that Mi Jeong’s affection is the reason for Ik Jong’s exceptional survival.

Every person Mi Jeong(Roh Jeong Eui) loves is safe from the law of death, even though they break all the forbidden rules. Mi Jeong’s first love was Ik Jong, he also gets the same protection. This revelation also understands that Mi Jeong may actually be a witch, although the exact strategy behind it is unknown.

In the seventh and eighth episodes of The Witch, we may have multiple heart attacks, but one scene in particular was thrilling and unexpectedly humorous: the final scene of episode eight. When Dong Jin prepares to leave Mi Jeong’s neighborhood forever, he notices a heavy signboard on the wall upper him, its nail loosening and about to fall.

Our talented main lead character casually remarks before leaving unscathed that your work patterns are pretty simple. However, as soon as he crossed the road, he was immediately hit by a car. Getting hit by a car is definitely not funny, and I hope Dong Jin recovers soon. On a classic K-drama trope, the scene plays where the main lead character gets hit and seriously injured, which this dramatic cliché makes being resurrected fun.

The Finale Of "The Witch" 3 Things We Liked.

“The Witch” is already over, and it’s only been five weeks and 10 episodes. Even though we miss seeing Roh Jeong Yui and Jinyoung on our screens every Saturday and Sunday, the good news is that the ending of the drama was very satisfying. I couldn’t ask for anything more. From Jung Hyeok’s (Lim Jae Hyeok) own curse to our main character’s happy ending, here are three reasons why the ending of The Witch was perfect.

Spoilers Alert Of 9-10 Episodes

Jung Hyeok's Mystery

Roh Jeong Eui

“The Witch” can be considered a short K-drama because it only has 10 episodes. For reasons of brevity, most viewers wanted the main characters, Dong Jin and Mi Jeong, to get the most screen time. But a significant part of it was given to Jung Hyeok. Jung Hyeok was shown solving crimes during the premiere week. Even in the last week, the incident of a woman with a stalker was seen throughout the drama. Fortunately, Jung Hyeok’s story wasn’t just a way to extend the length of the drama, but it actually added to the essence of the story.

In previous episodes, when Dong Jin meets Jung Hyeok for the first time and his friends tell him how Jung Hyeok was very popular. He pushes everyone away, and now he eats alone because of his reclusive personality. Dong Jin tried to befriend him by going to Jung Hyeok because he wanted what happened to Mi Jeong not to happen to him, and at first, this act was portrayed as an act of kindness, but it was an attempt by Dong Jin to save him. Then, in later episodes, the real fact turned out to be something else.

Although Dong Jin became friends with Jung Hyeok because he reminded him of Mi Jeong, he later noticed significant similarities between the two. The same kind of coincidence that made Mi Jeong’s life miserable also ruined Jung Hyeok’s life, causing him to distance himself from people completely.

In the last episode, because Jung Hyeok is a detective, Dong Jin leaves clues for him so he can solve them one by one faster than anyone else. By this process, he understands, thanks to Dong Jin’s formula, that if she can be called a witch, then he is also a witch himself. Dong Jin wanted to save not only Mi Jeong but also Jung Hyeok, as he had been collecting similar information about him all along.

Highlighting Dong Jin's Stalking Behavior

Roh Jeong Eui

Stalking is one of the most controversial plot points in the medium of love. Often, when producers want to portray stalking negatively, the scenes are illuminated by a dim light, don’t have any scary or background music, and the stalker is usually depicted as an unattractive or average-looking person. In contrast, when the stalker is an attractive person, the same behavior is romanticized, with the scenes lit more brightly, with romantic or playful background music.

Although an average viewer may not see it as problematic, romantic stalking can affect the dominant mind and lead to real-life consequences.”The Witch” viewers have been wary of Dong Jin’s actions since the premiere. Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) is a witch, which is a rumor Dong Jin (Jinyoung) is trying to disprove so that she can live an ordinary life and she can stop blaming herself for the deaths and events around her. On the other hand, he is following Mi Jiong to collect information for his investigation.

Although he avoids direct contact with Mi Jeong to save himself from dying and losing the chance to help her, Still, his stalker-like behavior has unsettled some viewers. Then it seems that the writer of “The Witch” Kang Ful had other plans. Not only do other characters refer to Dong Jin’s investigation tactics as stalker behavior in the beginning, but in the eighth episode, Dong Jin himself refers to himself as Mi Jeong’s stalker.

Jung Hyeok most recently even told Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) that she could file a stalking case against Dong Jin (Jinyoung) if she wanted to. Although these dialogues may seem trivial, they highlight that good intentions do not diminish the seriousness of stalking.

Breaking The Curse For A Happy Ending

While most romantic dramas have a happy ending, as is a prerequisite for the genre, “The Witch” differs from traditional romantic dramas in that the main characters do not interact with each other until about 60 percent of the drama is over. Because of this, viewers were unsure about Dong Jin’s luck and whether he would survive to the end. Then, he had already proven that Mi Jiong’s affection could break the curse, and he eventually fell in love with her, and he survived.

Roh Jeong Eui & Jinyoung

Although the couple didn’t share as much screen time as viewers expected, Mi Jeong’s love for Dong Jin didn’t feel forced. She had known him since high school, or at least knew about him. When everyone else had ostracized her, he was the only person who showed her kindness. Then, he risked his life to disprove the rumors about her because he wouldn’t have liked her any less if she had been a witch, but rather he wanted her to have the happy life she deserved. How can any person not fall in love with it?
