GOT7's Jinyoung risks his life - Spoilers Alert

In the previous episode of “The Witch,” Lee Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) came up with a fictional law that seemed to control the mysterious pattern of deaths following Park Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Yui). In the process, Dong Jin realized that this fictional law also applies to him: When Mi Jeong came away 10 meters from him, that moment shows, suddenly his tape measure cut his neck. It drew blood.

In the newly released drama’s upcoming episode, Dong Jin makes the dangerous decision to test his hypothesis by approaching Mi Jeong. Even if it means putting his life at risk, he is willing to do so. Till now, Dong Jin silently analyzed the data from Mi Jeong’s past and observed her from far away. After that, now as a test subject, he steps up in the hope that a way can be found to break his “curse” and allow him to live a normal life again. Finally, Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) gets too close to Mi Jeong, it remains to be seen what the outcome of this face-to-face encounter will be – and if it can change Mi Jeong’s fate.

The production team of the drama has remarked that “Dong Jin standing in front of Mi Jeong in person is not just a meeting. Dong Jin is making the most dangerous decision for himself and testing whether the ‘death policy’ will actually be activated. He is easily putting himself at risk to prove his hypothesis. Then the production team said ”What kind of turning point will this meeting become? To know more please look forward to Episode 6.”

On March 2 at 9.10 p.m. KST, the next episode of ‘The Witch’ will air.

"The Witch" features 3 important developments and 1 question asked in episodes 5-6.

Finally, the plot is unfolding, and ‘The Witch” half of the story is nearly over. Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) has taken his investigation to another level with his data-mining skills, which led to three important developments. It will determine if Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) is a witch or not. However, recent episodes also raise an important policy question.

From the development of death laws to the policy of collecting information without consent, here are three key developments and one ethical question to consider in the fifth and sixth episodes of “The Witch.”

Crucial development: The Law of Death

GOT7's Jinyoung research

Since the premiere episode, Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) has been using his skills in data mining and analysis to prove that Mi Jeong is not a witch and that all the deaths that are connected to her are just coincidences. In the third and fourth episodes, he wrote a research report to deny the existence of witches and deny the rumors around Mi Jeong which was titled ‘Refutation of the existence of witches: A Death Report.’

After that, he soon understood that the report showed Mi Jeong was the only connection between all the deaths, and although correlation is not equal to causation, this could mean that she could be the reason behind all those deaths.

In recent episodes, Dong Jin takes his investigation to another level and visits his hometown to gather information for his new research. Since he now knows from his previous report that Mi Jeong is indeed involved in some way with all the deaths and accidents, he takes a different approach. Instead of trying to disprove the rumors, Dong Jin digs into the information surrounding the accidents to identify a pattern that he can use to stop the wicked cycle of death and accidents.

With fortunately or to be more correctly, “efficiently”, Dong Jin has been able to identify a clear pattern, which he called the “Law of Death”. Although called a law, it is actually a hypothesis with five conditions. The list is below as follows:

1. It’s dangerous to be within 10 meters of Mi Jeong’s.
2. Talking with Mi Jeong is dangerous.
3. Mi Jeong knowing your name is dangerous.
4. It’s dangerous to confess your love to her.
5. Death will happen if all of the above apply.
If one condition is missing you will be injured but don’t die.

This assumption only applies to men who have a crush on Mi Jeong. For example, from this “Law of Death” are safe those people such as any man who is not romantically interested in her, such as her father, or any woman, such as her best friend or landlord.

Crucial development: simple rumors or curse?

One of the predictions that viewers of “The Witch” made in the premiere episodes was all the deaths and accidents around Mi Jeong were baseless rumors, just simple coincidences that were related to Mi Jeong. Although not completely accurate, this prediction seems to be partially true. One of the predictions that viewers of “The Witch” made in the premiere episodes was all the deaths and accidents around Mi Jeong were baseless rumors, just simple coincidences that were related to Mi Jeong. Although not completely accurate, this prediction seems to be partially true.

GOT7's Jinyoung & Roh Jeong

In the latest episodes, during Dong Jin’s information-gathering journey to his hometown, he meets two people. Both were injured during Mi Jeong’s high school years. They tell Dong Jin that even though people have connected those incidents to Mi Jeong none of them didn’t have a crush on her at that time, which means that those incidents were coincidental. But all the other incidents have not yet been proven false.

Crucial development: The Law of Death does not include Dong Jin (GOT7's Jinyoung)

From the beginning of “The Witch,” we see multiple men die or be injured – 40 injured and to be exact, two people died. However, despite being close to Mi Jeong, Dong Jin was never hurt. For this one explanation could be that he does not fill the requirements for the “Law of Death”. Dong Jin was somehow exempt from the “Law of Death” but the reason has not yet been revealed and it’s another theory developed by viewers.

GOT7's Jinyoung hurt.

Although Dong Jin doesn’t talk to Mi Jeong or he doesn’t express feelings for her, when a measuring tape scratches him like a wild animal then he gets hurt.
Now, is this incident related to Mi Jeong’s curse or is it just another coincidence,? this moment could foreshadow that Dong Jin is going to get hurt in future episodes.

Questions: stalker or savior?

GOT7's Jinyoung savior

Which label fits best to Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) between a savior and a stalker? Dong Jin has been observing Mi Jeong from afar since the first episode of “The Witch” and he is the main lead and the actor who plays him is Jinyoung that’s why the viewers has developed a soft perspective for him.
However, as the story unfolds, one begins to wonder whether Dong Jin’s actions are ethical, or whether we are simply on his side because he is an eye-catching male lead.

On the one hand, Dong Jin’s actions can be justified that’s why he wants to help Mi Jeong. Then he knows that getting close to her means he could get hurt, or worse, die, so he investigates her from a distance. But on the other hand, how far away? He has rented an apartment right in front of hers, he is talking to Mi Jeong’s best friend behind her back, and now he wants to get a grocery delivery job so that he can meet Mi Jeong, from all of these actions which of these actions is ethical? and which one crosses such a limit that should not be crossed?

Since the premiere episode of “The Witch” has been struggling with speed problems. Fortunately, the recent episodes have addressed this issue somewhat by focusing more on the story and depend less on flashbacks. Now, the question remains: Finally will Mi Jeong take control of her own story, or will she remain a damsel in distress for 60 percent of the series?

In the previous episode of “The Witch,” Lee Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) and Park Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui) finally talk to each other for the first time as a delivery driver and customer. However, Dong Jin always wore a helmet when talking to her, which covered his face and made it difficult for her to recognize him.

After suffering from many accidents and injuries while making the delivery to Mi Jeong, Dong Jin can learn more about the mysterious laws of death that surround her. Then, at the very end episode, Dong Jin spent about 10 minutes within 5 meters of Mi Jeong on a bus by this he found himself in a dangerous situation. Dong Jin noticed signs of danger such as lightning and spikes coming out of the vehicle next to the bus, Dong Jin finally opened the bus window to escape.

Even though he was able to get off the bus, he almost lost his head as he hid his face in front of Mi Jeong and the other passengers who were staring at him. Surprised, Mi Jeong calls out to him and tells him that she knows his name. To avoid being electrocuted, Dong Jin decided to put his belief in statistics and jump from the bridge into the Han River, where lightning strikes were statistically unlikely.

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Dong Jin and Mi Jeong finally face off to reveal Dong Jin’s identity. During their many encounters so far, Dong Jin had always hidden his face under his helmet—but now that Mi Jeong could see who he was, her eyes filled with tears and he became visibly emotional. Meanwhile, Dong Jin smiles warmly at Mi Jeong, it makes you curious why he has finally decided to see her as himself and what he wants to tell her.

The production team of the drama commented that Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung) has kept his identity a secret while watching over Mi Jeong until now, without knowing who he was Mi Jeong shared brief daily encounters with Dong Jin. This meeting on the rooftop, where Dong Jin and Mi Jeong face each other for the first time, will become a crucial turning point in the story. They added, “Park Jinyoung and Roh Jeong Yui’s emotional performance will take the drama to the top of the immersion. We hope you will stay with us.”

On March 9 at 9:10 p.m. KST, “The Witch” next episode will air.
