3 things to notice in Roh Jeong Yui and Jinyoung's new drama "The Witch"

Here are three things to note below here:

The law of misfortune

“The Witch” introduces a character who is destined not only for misfortune but also for tragedy which is similar to Murphy’s Law. Mi Jeong is a woman where anyone who falls in love with her gets hurt or dies. After rumors spread that she caused the accident and death, everyone stigmatized her as a witch, even though she may be innocent. As a result, she became isolated from society. In her loneliness, Mi Jeong wants someone to remember him, come to her, and help her get out of a situation where she seems to have no way.

Data and Algorithms

The only person who is free from rumors is Dong Jin(GOT7’s Jinyoung). A man of logic and reason, he relies only on data and algorithms, in the notion of a witch, he refuses to believe. Dong Jin had feelings for Mi Jiong since high school but never admitted it. Dong Jin decided to study statistics, eventually becoming one of the top data miners in the field.

When Dong Jin unexpectedly meets Mi Jeong again, he is determined to help her get rid of her loneliness. The existence of the witch cannot be explained through logic, which requires Dong Jin to gather information and investigate to explore the truth behind the mysterious “Law of Misfortune.”

The redemption of love

The concept of “witch” is born out of hatred and extreme emotions. Ironically, the witch’s redemption is only possible through truth – something that can be understood through reason. Despite knowing that loving Mi Jeong could lead to death, Dong Jin didn’t give up.

He embarks on a dangerous journey to uncover the truth, risking his own life in the process. Whether he can break the law of bad luck and show Mi Jeong a ray of hope remains to be seen in the upcoming drama.
